General comments
Duur behandeling: tot 72 uur na het normaliseren van de temperatuur.
Pneumokokken zijn in 10-15% van de gevallen resistent voor doxycycline en macroliden. Bij voorkeur deze middelen op geleide van antibiogram van kweekuitslag (sputum en bloed) voorschrijven.
